The disappearance of several young women leads superstitious villagers believing that a demon is once again stalking their community. Baron Friedrich Zorn resides in a remote castle in Bavaria. With visions of blood and evil possessing his mind he fears that the curse that had been passed onto him has now passed onto his two children Emil and Elizabeth.

Fearing that his children and infested with the cursed blood, he holds the two locked behind the castle walls. Enlisting the help from a psychiatrist (Magee), the Baron hopes to cure his family from the madness. Can these demons be destroyed by a power beyond madness or will a final onslaught of evil demand that blood have blood? "Demons of the Mind", is a surreal gothic horror tale and is part of the Hammer Collection. Though more serious that a regular Hammer Tale, "Demons of the Mind" deals with insanity, incest and horror all combined into one.

This film had been considered to be one of the most offbeat and unique horror films ever made. This film successfully substitutes supernatural events and the fear of monsters with psychological events and the fear of the unseen and the fear of madness or "Demons of the Mind".
