When Karen White (Wallace) a newscaster goes in search of a serial killer she encounters a world of pure terror. While meeting in a peep show booth the killer tells her that he is wants to show her something.. and he tries to attack her. Shot dead by her back up this hideous looking shape falls to the floor.
Severely shaken after this attack, Karen doesn't remember what exactly happend and is advised to take some time off and head to "The Colony" for a much needed rest. A secluded retreat where her new neighbors are very eager to make her and her husband feel right at home. Bizzare strange characters inhabit the colony and Karen begins to discover the bizzare link between her attacker and this supposedly safe haven.
When night falls Karen begins to hear their cries. "The Howling"...the same howling she has heard before. Karen ventures into the forest seeking the answers, and there she makes a terrifying discovery. Now she must fight for not only for her life..but for her very own soul.
One of my favorite Werewolf films ever made, "The Howling"is a terrifying journey filled with intense suspense. From the beginning to the shocker ending of the film, "The Howling" will sink it's teeth into your deepest fears and never let's go. The first and only good of the series which followed. The Howling is an original low budget horror flick that has all the elements of horror mixed with humor which makes it the classic that still holds up today.
Now available on DVD by MGM Home Entertainment. The disc is presented in a 16x9 Widescreen Edition. A great picture quality is produced here with a very clear and crisp soundtrack. Though it's very disappointing that no extra features besides the Original Theatrical Trailer were included on this disc. Unlike the old Criterion Laserdisc from a few years ago which included an audio commentary with the films cast as well as other extras. Maybe one day we will get to see a full fledge special edition on DVD that The Howling deserves.

Part three of a series that should have ended after the first. This one takes place in Australia where a colony of Marsupial werewolves (a.k.a Tasmanian Tiger) attempt to outwit and outlast the human civilization. The Marsupial wolf who once roamed the Australian Outback have returned. Now a werewolf colony have descended and taken over the land.
This very low budget horror/comedy which have their werewolves in very cheap and laughable masks, contains a story line that is slow and really not that funny after all. There is only one memorable moment in the film such as the werewolf nuns, who in my opinion is the only amusing part of the film. It's cheese that doesn't please and this B flick gets an F in my book.
On to the picture quality of the film, Elite has done a fantastic job at delivering a newly re-mastered 16x9 pristine film transfer. Also contained on the disc is a newly re-mixed 5.1 Soundtrack, the disc also contains: Commentary by Director Philippe Mora, Still Photo Gallery, TV Spot and Promotional Trailer.
