Before "Friday the 13th, "Nightmare on Elm Street", there was "Blood and Black Lace". The first authentic Body Count movie of it's kind. Known as the Italian Godfather of Horror, director Mario Bava sets the mood for a creepy and cinematic journey.
When fashion models begin to turn up dead, the police are on the scene. Our first victim is brutally murdered and a diary of hers is left behind. Everyones eye's are on the diary, and her boyfriend, a known addict supplying drugs, is suspected of the crime.
The body count begins and one by one these exotic models are viciously murdered. A faceless creature is lurking backstage waiting on his next victim. Filled with suspenseful music and brutal deaths, "Blood and Black Lace" has all the makings of a greaat slasher film as well as an interesting story as well. In the tradition of Alfred Hitchock, the mood is set and a masterpiece is born.
The newley remastered DVD is the Uncut, Widescreen, European Version taken from a German print. This is the best film to video transfer i've ever seen of the film. The disc contains a very interesting Commentary by Tim Lucas, Bonus Music Soundtrack, Trailers, Photo Gallery, and my favorite..interviews with the actors Cameron Mitchell and Mary Dawne Arden.
