In this supernatural thriller Jennifer Jason Leigh stars as Lucy a girl who is on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Charlotte played by Judith Ivey is lucys sister who takes care of her and makes sure she gets her daily dose of medication. Together the two sisters live together in their gloomy Louisiana mansion that they have turned into a guest house. When Matt (Eric Stoltz) arrives lucy falls head over heels for him. The two instantly spark up a hot romantic fling in which Charlotte is totally against.
Meanwhile, other guests arrive to stay at the mansion. A wacky group of visitors settle into the mansion. At the dinner table lucy begins to tell the tale of the ghosts that lurk in the swamp just outside their door. The visitors think she is nuts but lucy knows what is just outside. Sister Charlotte quickly interrupts and sends lucy off to bed with her medication.
Visions begin to appear in lucys head. Secrets from the past are becoming clear to her. A murder had taken place and now the past is coming back to haunt them. From the Director of Gods and Monsters, Strange Behavior and Strange Invaders (I hope Anchor Bay rescues these two). A surprising good movie with good twists and a very good climatic ending. In my opinion it can be compared to the new "What Lies Beneath", starring Michelle Pfiffer and Harrison Ford. Sister Sister is a chilling tale of murder and the supernatural.
Anchor Bay delivers "Sister Sister" for the first time in it's original aspect ratio of 2:35.1 and enhanced for 16x9. The picture had a beautiful transfer and never looked this good.
The audio has been remixed to Dolby Digital 5.1 that I thought was very good, but not aggressive. The DVD also contains the films original 2.0 stereo track. This DVD also has a Director Commentary track that i found very interesting and informative. As we learn from Bill Condon, the original script was a typical 80's slasher film, about a crazy brother and sister that would kill their visitors. Bill rewrote the script and made "Sister Sister" with a more character developed plot.
The other extras include the films original theatrical trailer and 4 deleted scenes.

As with 90% of Anchor Bay DVD's, the disc contains a reproduction of the films original theatrical poster on the inside insert card.
I enjoyed this movie and recommend it.
