It's time to get out ya paddle and get a movin' down to the SWAMP for a southern Romp.
A story filled with Raw Action and Rank Terror that you will never forget.
She is a legend. She is a myth. She is Swamp Girl. Growing up on the Okefenokee, abandoned by her parents, Swamp Girl was raised by a black man she calls Pa. Trouble reins for Swamp Girl when another girl who happens to be a psycho prison escapee and her boyfriend force Swamp Girl to be their local Swamp guide.
Things get nasty when Swamp Girl battles the Convict Girl in an all out catfight. It's a fight to the death in this exploitation film that combines quicksand with some country western crooning by Ferlin Husky.
"SWAMP COUNTRY"
(1966)
Starring: Rex Allen, Sue Casey, David Dalie and Lyle Waggoner (of The Carol Burnett Show).
Directed By:Robert Patrick.
It's a Southern Style...Country-Lovin'...Song Filled...Swamp Romp.
Now, the better film of the two, “Swamp Country” begins when a blonde floozy is found strangled at the Swamper Motel. An innocent traveler staying in the next room hears her cries and goes running. Things get a little crazy in Swamp Country when the traveler becomes the wanted suspect in the girls murder.
Luckily he escapes into the Okefenokee, but the lynch mob is hot on his trail. Meanwhile, moonshine mobsters kidnap guitar singing Baker Knight and plan on hacking off his fingers unless Sheriff Jim can get to him first. It's just another plain ordinary day in Swamp Country.
This double feature DVD is a root and toot to holla bout'. Loaded with great extras like Swamp Trailers such as: “The Alligator”, “Attack of the Giant Leeches”, “Crypt of Dark Secrets”, “Okefenokee”, “Scum of the Earth”, “Sting of Death” and “Swamp Girl”.
The disc also contains a Swampy Short Subject: “Swamp Buggy Race”, which takes you behind the scenes at an actual “Swamp Buggy Race”..Yaaa...Hooo... Also young boys are being used as Gator Bait by the Swamp Folks of the Okefenokee in the 30 minute Bonus Featurette: “Swamp Virgin”.
Also included is the Gallery of Amazing Trash O Rama Exploitation Art with Radio Spot Rarities (always one of my favorite features that Something Weird Disc's contain). These movies have been Digitally Remastered, though the picture quality on both of them are not pristine, they are in the best condition possible considering these films ages through the years.
This southen fried disc is over 3 and 1/2 hours of Swampland Lunacy,
